Indie Band The Black Keys Will Play in ‘America Lovers Crypto’ Concert

The Black Keys are set to headline the final show of the America Loves Crypto Tour, a concert series organized by the Stand with Crypto Alliance political action committee (PAC). This special performance, described as an “intimate show,” will take place on Friday, October 25th, at the Akron Civic Theatre, located in the band’s hometown of Akron, Ohio.

The duo, Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney, join other artists who have supported the PAC, including Black Pumas, 070 Shake, Big Sean, Jessie Murph, Lauv, and The Chainsmokers.

Although the music industry’s NFT craze has passed, the upcoming 2024 elections have provided new opportunities in the crypto world. The Stand with Crypto Alliance PAC endorses several prominent politicians. Among them are Republicans such as Ted Cruz, Rick Scott, and Marsha Blackburn, along with a few Democrats who are supportive of cryptocurrency, including Jim Costa, Kirsten Gillibrand, and Pat Ryan.

Earlier this year, The Black Keys unexpectedly canceled their planned North American arena tour, reportedly due to low ticket sales. Shortly after, they parted ways with their managers, Irving Azoff and Steve Moir. The band later announced a shift in strategy, promising to schedule more “intimate” shows. Though they have recently confirmed a few tour dates in Latin America, details on a revised North American tour are still awaited.

In April, the band released their latest album, Ohio Players. A new deluxe version of the album, Ohio Players (Trophy Edition), is set for release on November 15, 2024, through Nonesuch Records. This edition includes 18 tracks, four of which were previously unreleased. The 2LP set will feature a gatefold jacket, alternate cover, and updated track sequencing. Special guests on the Trophy Edition include Alice Cooper, Beck, and DannyLux.
