Beware! Hackers Use AI Malware to Steal
Cybersecurity experts have uncovered the first real-world attack using AI-generated malware. The malicious software, likely created through AI, was part of an email scam targeting French users. It used a technique called HTML smuggling to deliver a ZIP file that included harmful VBScript and JavaScript.
What caught researchers’ attention was how neatly the malware was coded, with comments explaining every part—a rarity in regular malware. The attacker used the AES decryption key in JavaScript, leading to further investigation. Inside, they found AsyncRAT, a known info-stealing tool.
Experts warn that as AI advances, cybercriminals with less skill could start using AI to make more complex attacks, raising concerns about future threats.
This discovery shows the growing importance of staying ahead in the fight against AI-enhanced cyberattacks.
Ripple Launches Payment Solution in Brazil
Ripple has launched its payment solution in Brazil, partnering with Mercado Bitcoin, a leading crypto exchange. Announced on Oct 3rd, this collaboration enables Mercado Bitcoin to use Ripple Payments, which offers faster, cheaper international transfers.
Brazil is the first Latin American country to adopt this Ripple service. Users will experience enhanced security, better liquidity, and global reach. The solution also supports direct payments in Brazil’s currency, the Real, benefiting retail and corporate customers.
Ripple first entered Brazil in 2019 and expanded its on-demand liquidity service with Travelex Bank in 2022. The latest rollout focuses on institutional transactions between Mercado Bitcoin and its Portugal branch. Meanwhile, Ripple aims to grow further with its USD-pegged stablecoin, targeting global markets.
Notes For Uncertain Price of Bitcoin Bullish “Uptober”
While October is usually a strong month for Bitcoin, crypto trader Oliver Velez believes it’s a mistake to focus too much on one month. He shared on October 2 that the second half of October is typically better for bullish moves, not the first part.
Timothy Peterson, from Cane Island Alternative Advisors, also said the best part of “Uptober” usually begins after October 19. Velez suggests looking at data from October to May for a clearer view of the market.
Despite a slow start to October, Velez believes this dip could lead to a stronger rally later. Similarly, a trader known as “Titan of Crypto” noted that although September was rough, it ended positively. Now, traders are cautious as October begins with uncertainty.
