Coinbase CEO: DOGE is a Lifetime Opportunity to Increase US Economic Freedom

Brian Armstrong, CEO of Coinbase, has proposed the creation of a Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), describing it as a rare opportunity to improve economic freedom in the U.S. and streamline government operations.

In a Nov. 17 post on X, Armstrong suggested that such an agency could address growing federal spending, which has surged in recent years, and reduce it to a healthier level—around 10% of GDP.

Armstrong also advocated for amending the U.S. Constitution to enforce fiscal responsibility. He proposed barring congressional re-election for those who approve unbalanced budgets, incentivizing long-term financial discipline.

In addition, Armstrong introduced the idea of a U.S. sovereign wealth fund, where citizens could contribute and receive shares. Surplus funds could be distributed as dividends, fostering a collective financial benefit.

Trump’s Vision for DOGE

On Nov. 13, President-elect Donald Trump officially announced the establishment of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), appointing Elon Musk to lead it.

Inspired by Dogecoin, Musk will work alongside entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy to reduce government waste, reform federal agencies, and eliminate unnecessary regulations.

Trump likened the agency to a “Manhattan Project” for modern governance, emphasizing its potential to disrupt the system. Following this announcement, Dogecoin surged 163% in value within a month, climbing from $0.13 to $0.36, with projections hinting at a $1 milestone in the future.

This innovative agency represents a bold approach to addressing inefficiencies while inspiring both economic and technological advancements.
